A Salvoconducto is an exceptional, temporary permit issued by Migración Colombia that allows its holder to stay legally in Colombia for an extra 30 days, that can be extended for 30 days more.
The “salvoconducto” is issued under two modalities, to stay in the country or to leave the country. The salvoconducto can be issued under the following circumstances:
To leave the countryIn case your visa application has been deniedWhen a foreigner is born in Colombia but is not eligible for Colombian nationality.When a foreigner stays in the country irregularly, after paying any applicable fines, they may be issued a Safe-conduct permiTo stay in the countryPara Solicitar Visa o Cambiar Visa.

Steps to apply for a "Salvoconducto" in Colombia
Fill out the online application form at this link. Select the nearest Migration Colombia office of your current address.At the end of the form, attach your a scanned copy of your passport merged with your last entrance stamp or your current visa which is about to expire.Save the FUT number, which is generated after completing the form. This number is needed for your appointment.Schedule an appointment for the Salvoconducto at the nearest Migration office using this link.Attend the appointment on the chosen date and time with your original passport, a printed copy of the passport's first page, the FUT number and the required documents, depending on whether the Salvoconducto is for leaving or staying in the country.Pay the government fee of 75,000 Colombian pesos during the appointment for issuing the Salvoconducto.If the "Salvoconducto" is for a foreigner who has a visa application in progress and wishes to legally stay in Colombia while waiting for a response to their visa, they must bring:

Fill your personal information as required:!
Put the information of your emergency contact:!
Submit the supporting documents for your Salvoconducto request.!
Accept the privacy policy, fill the captcha and click on “Continuar” and Save the FUT number, which is generated after completing the form. This number is needed for your appointment.!
Book an appointment for the Salvoconducto at the nearest Migration officeGo to Migración Colombia platform: (https://citasmigracion.iq-online.net.co/citas ) and click on “Nueva cita”!
Select the city, the office and the procedure you will carry out (in this case is Salvoconducto):!
Select the date and choose and one hour for the appointment and click on “Agendar”!
Fill your personal information, name, last name, ID number, date of birth, email and phone number:!
Click on “AGENDAR CITA” and the system will confirm the details of the appointment and will generate a unique number of appointment that you must save for the day of your appointment.!
Attend the appointment on the chosen date and time with your original passport, a printed copy of the passport’s first page, the FUT number and the required documents, depending on whether the Salvoconducto is for leaving or staying in the country. During your appointment, the Migration Officer will let you know if they approve you to issue you a Salvoconducto or not. Costs: $75.000 COP, to be paid by card in the Migration Office.
