Who can apply for this visa?

Nationals of the States Parties to the "Agreement on Residence for Nationals of the States Parties of Mercosur, Bolivia, and Chile," applying the principle of reciprocity. This visa is equivalent to the Temporary Resident Visa established in said agreement.

Benefits and restrictions

Up to two years validity - only once

This visa allows you to live and work in Colombia for up to two years. The total time granted will be up to the authorities. This visa can only be applied for once.

This visa admits beneficiaries

With this visa you will be able to bring your family with you as beneficiaries.

Open work permit

This visa allows you to work in Colombia for any company or institution.

Time accrue towards residency

You can apply for an R-visa if you accumulate two continous years holding this visa without losing it.

This visa allows the accumulation of time for the Resident Visa after a minimum period of two (2) years as a visa holder.

Requirements:

1. Visa Request Letter

Write a letter applying for the Temporary Resident Visa under the Mercosur Agreement. Explain the work you'll do in Colombia and how you'll support yourself during your stay.

2. Criminal Record Certificate

Provide a certificate of your criminal or police records from the country where you've lived for the last three years. This needs to be apostilled to Colombia.
